Annual migrators between their home on several Croatian islands and their summer vacation in the Alps, the griffon vultures are a well known sight among the Alpine hikers and climbers. Breeding and childhood take place in the Mediterranean, but non-territoreals come to feed their bellies with the rich carrion supply in the Alpine heights.
Paralleled with the bearded vulture film project CAM 3001 has started this second bird-of-prey coverage on the griffon vultures in Croatia. Initiated as a side-step just to show the migration and the home area of the bearded vultures' summer guests, the friendly Croatian welcome and the integration into their research project converted the intended sequence into a whole individual film idea. Hence a second long-time observation forms an inter-link between science, nature, conservation, and the arts of filmmaking and photography.
